Where site or local access restrictions apply, RigiSystems has the equpment to roll the Ziplok sheets on site – including tapered sheets –
using its fleet of mobile roll formers.
On-site roll forming can be done at either ground or eaves level. In the case of the latter, the roll former needs to be mounted on
scaffolding or another type of platform, so that when the aluminum coil is fed in at one end, finished Ziplok sheet comes out of the other,
flowing straight onto the roof.
On-site roll forming is particularly suitable for when long lengths of sheet are required, as it removes all the transport problems associated
with very long sheet lengths. The mobile roll former can be positioned such that the sheets are produced as near as possible to where they are
required, and on large projects the roll former can be repositioned if necessary to ensure that production is kept at the point of use.
Once on-site roll forming is the chosen option for a particular project, a full operations document is produced, detailing requirements, safe
working procedures and risk assessment. The positioning of the mobile roll former will be decided, as well as security for storage of the aluminum
coils, how they will be moved, and the means by which the manufactured sheets can be safely handled manually and lifted into final position.
Ziplok sheets produced in this way are indistinguishable from those produced in the factory and achieve the same performance criteria. RigiSystems
has an extensive portfolio of site rolled projects including the new Wembley Stadium.
